20/08/2009 - Masters in Accessible Online Learning: Supporting Disabled Students Now Enrolling
The Open University Masters 30-credit module that JISC TechDis were involved in developing is now enrolling for its second presentation - closing date September 4th 2009. Studies begin in early September and end in late January.
This online course is concerned with accessibility and improving access to learning for students with disabilities. There is an increasing expectation in many countries that disabled students will be able to participate fully in post-16 education. This means that people responsible for provision, whether they have an academic role or a support role, need to be aware of the impact of this on the way courses are designed and delivered online.
The course looks at the learning experiences of disabled students, the more technical aspects of accessibility, and the current debates and discussions about disability and accessibility in educational contexts. This course uses materials created by JISC TechDis and benefits from the input of JISC TechDis expertise in its production.
