07/04/2009 - Into Higher Education 2010 – inspiring future disabled students.
Skill: National Bureau for Students with Disabilities is looking for UK disabled students currently doing a degree at college or university to write about their experiences for the 2010 edition of our Into Higher Education disabled students guide.
The 2010 edition of the Into Higher Education disabled students guide will be published in September.
This year, Skill are particularly interested in:
• students doing Foundation Degrees;
• students doing degree-level study in an FE college;
• women doing STEM degrees (Science, Technology, Engineering or Maths);
• male students;
• students from a Black or Asian minority ethnic background;
• students doing an open or distance learning degree.
If you know of anyone who would like to write about their challenges and successes in a way that will inspire future students, please direct them to the Skill website (see link below) for more information and guidance notes.

The deadline for submitting profiles is Thursday 16 April.
The 6 selected students will get:
• their story and photo published in a major publication that goes out to hundreds of schools, colleges and careers service;
• their photos from the publication on a CD to keep. These are taken by a professional photographer;
• a free copy of Into Higher Education 2010;
• a special offer 1 year’s free membership of Skill.
